People & organizations

Hi, everyone!

It's been the sixth semester of Business English Club in L'viv and I'm really pleased that the demand for these classes is increasing. This term we'll continue the practice of working with the essential vocabulary beforehand using this blog. You know that I normally don't give you the home task as I understand that you're all quite busy. Previous years show that you still remember basic words even without home assigment. But, this term there's going to be a tiny task which can bring you some presents from me. The task is as following: make up one sentence that contains the biggest number of new words & get your present at a lesson!

Besides, last semester during the class connected with IT, my BEC students created a blog that I'm using now and encourage you to work with it as well: http://bec-group.blogspot.com. I'd really like you to contribute to the learning process by writing your post and adding comments. You need to: 1) have a box on Gmail; 2) send it to me: podcasteng@gmail.com; 3) create your posts.

If you have any suggestions and ideas which can improve our cooperation, I'm willing to hear them out.

Business communication

"Developing excellent communication skills is absolutely essential to effective leadership. The leader must be able to share knowledge and ideas to transmit a sense of urgency and enthusiasm to others. If a leader can't get a message across clearly and motivate others to act on it, then having a message doesn't even matter."
— Gilbert AmelioPresident and CEO of National Semiconductor Corp

We are learning how to write e-mails\letters\fax messages + speak over the phone + participate in a teleconference!
